MINIER — Jason J. Eveland, 39, of Minier, passed away Sunday (May 11, 2014) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jason was the dear son of Judy Barry of Ohio and the late Terry Eveland.

Jason is survived by his beloved fiancé, Victoria L. Morrison, Minier; his cherished two sons, Che Eveland, Decatur, and Gage Eveland, Minier; two brothers, Joshua Eveland, Wapella, and Justin Eveland, Armington; one sister, Rachel Sherwood, Heyworth. He also leaves behind loved ones, Lucas Morrison, Pennsylvania; Andrea Morrison, Minier; special friend, Missy Bragg, Minier; three devoted aunts, Rhonda Defebaugh, Leslie Cundiff and Cheryl Jones; uncles, cousins and nephews.

Jason was preceded in death by his father and brother, Jeremy Eveland.

Jason enjoyed fishing, boating and paintball. He was an advocate for bully breed dogs and was active in rescue efforts for them. Jason was employed by Global Nelson in Morton.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of Jason's life will be held at a later date. Haensel Funeral Home in Minier is assisting the family with arrangements.
