Bruce Allen Brockwell, 58, of Prince George, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012. Born in Hopewell, he was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence M. (Cutter) Brockwell Sr., his paternal grandparents, Morton and Virgie Brockwell, maternal grandparents, Arthur and Pearl Davis, an aunt, Myrtle Lee Saunders, an uncle, Ralph A. Davis; and a cousin, Nancy Bollinger. Mr. Brockwell was a US Navy veteran, who loved fishing, dogs and bluegrass music. He lived in Florida for 18 years while working as an Industrial Tanker Cleaner. Mr. Brockwell is survived by his mother and stepfather, Alice Davis and Willard J. Wootten of Prince George; a sister, Judy Brockwell and husband, Russell of Prince George; a brother, Lawrence Brockwell Jr. and wife, Kathy of Prince George; a niece, Courtney Brockwell of Prince George; a daughter, Tammy Schley of Chesterfield; special friend, Carol Schley of Hopewell; an aunt, Mary Francis Smith and husband, Ted; an uncle, John Brockwell and wife, Jean. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 with the Reverend Gilbert Elder officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Virginia, 1700 Bayberry Court, Suite 300, Richmond, Virginia 23226. Arrangements by the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road.
