Willie and Lola Williams. She attended grade school in Oklahoma City then moved to Lawton where she graduated from Lawton High School.
In 1946, Jean met a soldier, Robert (Bob) Gepfert, who was stationed at Fort Sill. After Bob returned from Germany and was discharged they married December 23, 1946 and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
They moved back to Oklahoma in 1961. Jean worked at Southwestern Bell and later at a John A. Brown department store.
Jean and Bob were blessed with six children (three girls and three boys), fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Jean was involved with Christian Women's Club, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, and Metro Church.
