James Henry "Jim" Abercrombie, Jr., 76, of Enoree, SC, passed away Wednesday May 14, 2014 at his home.

A native of Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late James Henry and Dora (Roberts) Abercrombie, Sr. He was the husband of Lois (Brown) Abercrombie.

A member of Emma Gray Memorial Methodist Church, he was a graduate of and attended Woodruff High School, Young Harris College, USC, Wofford, USC Aiken and UNC Chapel Hill where he graduated with MAT.

He was an amateur Radio Operator N4JA, a teacher at Burke County, GA, High School in Waynesboro, GA, and Woodruff Junior High, Corporate Chief Engineer and announcer for WGAC radio, Chief Engineer at WORD radio in Spartanburg and an announcer with WDRF now WQUL 95.9 in Woodruff.

Survivors in addition to his loving wife of 31 years include one son, Bobby Abercrombie (Lisa) of Woodruff; three daughters, Kathy and Lynn Abercrombie both of Moore and Kelly Abercrombie of Lexington, SC; one step brother, Lewis Edge of Maryville, TN; one step sister Ailene Hampton of Hendersonville, TN; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Emma Gray Memorial Methodist Church, prior to the 2:00 PM Funeral Service officiated by the Rev. Brenda Curtis. Interment followed in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
