James D. Cesar, 88, of Kiel, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

He was born September 1, 1925 in Sheboygan, son of the late John & Angela (Zore) Cesar.Jim graduated from SS Cyril & Methodius School and North High School, Sheboygan.He enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 at the age of 17. He served aboard the U.S.S. Vicksburg and participated in the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa; being discharged in 1946 with the rank of RM3CHe then went to work for the family business, Cesar's Beer Distributing Co. and Cesar's Restaurant & Janitorial Supply, Sheboygan, later becoming owner. He retired in 1998.On September 30, 1995 he was married to Bonita Streiber-Kliejunas.Jim was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel and Kiel VFW Post #6707. He had the privilege of being included in the Old Glory Honor Flight to Washington DC on July 20, 2012.He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and hunting, fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie and family; mother-in-law, Alta Tiede; children, Harley "Sonny" (Linda) Streiber, Julie (Steve) Matznick, Terry Streiber (special friend, Cara), Cindy (Eric) Lau, all of Kiel, grandchildren; Scott & Lucas Streiber, Michelle (Joe) Barrette, Brandon & Zachary Matznick, Sasha (Brian) Kofke, Aric Streiber, Alicia Streiber, Logan & Austin Lau. He is further survived by great grandchildren, Morgan Karstaedt, Hawkin Kofke, Mitchell (Amanda) & Devon Barrette, cousins, Mary Jane Lawrence, JoAnn Swanson, Kenneth Cesar, Donna Gutschow and niece, Ashley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Angela Cesar, one brother, Robert Cesar, father-in-law, Eugene Tiede and uncle,

Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery.
