John Edward Casey Sr., 77, of Crossville, passed away June 20, 2013, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. A memorial service with military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard was held at St. Raphael's Episcopal Church June 25, with the Rev. Ann Markle officiating.

He was born April 11, 1936, in Park Rapids, MN, the son of the late James and Lora (Hensel) Casey. Mr. Casey was reitred from the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran during the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (Wistrom) Casey of Fairfield Glade; daugthers, Kathy DePoto of Cookeville, Laurie Hissen of Fredicksburg, VA, Julie Peterson of Elk River, MN, and May Townsend of Excelsior, MN; son, John Edward Casey Jr., of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Mary Perry of Nevis, MN; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Winifred "Winnie" Miller, and brother, James Casey.
