ST. ANTHONY - Dorthey Yancey Thomas, 64, long-time St. Anthony resident, died October 4, 1985 at Fremont General Hospital from cancer.
She was born October 4, 1921 at LaBelle, the daughter of Florence Malinda Wilcox and Money Lee "Dee" Yancey. She attended schools in Rexburg.
On February 11, 1944 she married Alton G. "Rusty" Thomas at Rexburg. He was St. Anthony police chief for several years. He died in June 1970.
She worked at Ben Franklin in St. Anthony and for the Orange Mart for several years before her retirement in 1984.
She is survived by one son, Butch Thomas of St. Anthony; two daughters, Vicki Lea Thomas and Mrs. Jim (Carrie) Cox, both of St. Anthony; two brothers, Erastus Weekes of Sugar City and Boyd Yancey of St. Anthony; three sisters, Jessie Hiner of Rexburg, Wyonia Snapp of Rupert, and Mrs. Ray (Ethel "Todd") Lindauer of Minidoka; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the St. Anthony LDS Third Chapel with Bishop Larry Thurgood officiating. Burial will be in Archer-Sutton Cemetery.
