Louis A. Herzog, 65, of 1311 S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening after a heart attack in the Village of Brant, Calumet County.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County.
Mr. Herzog was born July 31, 1895, at Maple grove, son of the late Louis and Helen Henning Herzog. He was educated at Reedsville Lutheran Elementary School, and later served in World War I with an artillery unit.
He married the former Ella Ziemer in June, 1919, at Reedsville, where the couple lived before moving to Manitowoc in 1923.
Mr. Herzog was employed by the Chicago and North Western Railway Inc. as a boilermaker in the round house at Manitowoc and later was employed as a butcher and meat cutter at the Joseph Kattner Food Market, Manitowoc.
Prior to his retirement January 1, he was employed as a butcher and meat cutter for Kattner Brothers Market at Manitowoc. A son preceded him in death several years ago.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Norbert of Manitowoc and Willard of Milwaukee; two brothers, Arvin of Millersville, Sheboygan County, and Walter of Reedsville; a sister, Mrs. Ernst Behnke, of Reedsville, and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 2 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday when the casket will be moved to the church, where the body may be viewed from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service.
