Harold L. Stubbs, 85, of 610 N. 5th Ave., died Friday morning, Dec. 4 at Grandview Heights Nursing Home of Natural causes. Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. John Christy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Stubbs was born April 26, 1905 in Marshall County, the son of Harry and Ruth Lloyd Stubbs.
He was married to Margie F. Stubbs on Jan. 4, 1928 in Fort Dodge and she survives. He was reared and educated in the Green Mountain area, graduating from Green Mountain High School. He farmed and did carpenter work until his retirement. He had lived on the same farm for 83 of his 85 years. Mr. Stubbs was a member of the Green Mountain Church of Christ, Marshall County ARC, and a charter member of the Pleasant Hill School.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Deloris Nelson, John J. Stubbs and Lois Stubbs, all of Marshalltown; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers and two sisters.
