James Cooney Is Buried Here Tues. Morning
Funeral services for James F. Cooney, Peoria, who died at a Peoria hospital Saturday were held at St. John's church here at 9: a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Fr. Thomas Cleary celebrating requiem mass.
Interment was in St. John's cemetery. Mr. Cooney formerly resided here. He was born on a farm in Saratoga township, August 13, 1884, son of Thomas and Maria Cooney.
He was a member of the Catholic church and Knights of Columbus. He married Cora DeFrates, Peoria, who died 18 months ago.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his son, Richard, in Manila; six sisters, Mrs. Daniel O'Brien, Mrs. Ralph Meyers, Miss Blanche Cooney, all of Peoria; Mrs. Frank Mc-Nulty, Greybull, Wyoming; Mrs. Raymond Blaisdell, Bradford; Mrs. Walter Zerfas, Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank.
