Rites for Mrs. Ethyl B. Berkshire

Mrs. Ethyl B. Berkshire of 2610 South Fifth, Burlington, Iowa, died Saturday, November 18, 1978, at the Burlington Care Center at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 18 days.

She was born March 31, 1892, in Louisa County, the daughter of Lyman and Sadie Tindall Ogier. She married Thornton A. Berkshire on January 31, 1912, in Louisa County. He died in 1959. She lived most of her life in the Cairo and Oakland communities and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Burlington.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Marilyn) Grimes of Burlington and Mrs. Ted (Lillian) Anderson of Winfield; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ogier and a half-brother, Ted Ogier, both of Mt. Pleasant.

A son, Charles, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Sheagren Funeral Home in Burlington with Rev. Laurence Garrett officiating. Burial was in the Cairo Cemetery.
