Walter Duckart, 81, Rt. 1, Greenleaf, former Bolt resident, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his home. Mr. Duckart was born Jan. 14, 1897 in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, to the late Peter and Catherine Weber Duckart. He farmed most of his life in the Bolt area with the exception of 20 years which he spent in Milwaukee. During World War I he served with the Third Co. 161st Depot Brigade at Camp grant, Ill. In September 1924, he married Barbara Engeldinger in Cooperstown.
His wife and one sister, Frances, preceded him in death.
Survivors are three sons, Benedict, Rt. 1, Denmark; John, Milwaukee; Sylvester, Manitowoc; one brother, Joseph, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Jacklin, Tisch Mills; Mrs. Rose Hitht, Milwaukee; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Dewane Funeral Home, Denmark, from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday. Wake service 8 p.m. Friday. Due to Holy Week, services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Geenen officiating. Burial in St. James Cemetery, Cooperstown. A Mass will be offered at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown.
