Elias Bennett was born on Turkey Run in Upshur Co., WV, the son of Silas and Rebecca (Crites) Bennett. He married in 1870 to Christina Elizabeth Wilson. He had Civil War Service and was listed in the 1890 veterans census. In the 1900 census Christina reports 8 children/8 living. (There were six sons and two daughter). CHILDREN (census based): Silas Opha (1873–1954), Croner Garfield (1878-1969), Roy L. born 1883, Max Benjamin (1888–1963), James B. b. 1892, Frank J. born about 1892, and Audra D. Bennett b. 1893 - BENNETT.
