TUSCALOOSA | Mary Inez Langston, age 101, of Tuscaloosa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 16, 2014.
A Celebration of her life will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Heritage Chapel with Dr. Donald G. Payne presiding and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by loving husband of 48 years, Luxie L. Langston; her parents, Henry Thomas and Ethel Loma Ramsey; and three brothers, James Simpson Ramsey, Daniel Curry Ramsey and Henry Lee (Buddy) Ramsey.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Ann Mitchum; her two grandsons, David Warren Robbins (Christen) and Stephen Guy Robbins; and two great-grandchildren, Kameron Beck Robbins and Emily Katherine Robbins.
Mrs. Langston retired from Partlow State School, where she worked as a nurse for many years. She also worked at The Paper Mill prior to her marriage. She was active in church and Sunday School at Forrest Lake Baptist Church, where she was a life long member. She loved all animals, especially cats. Mrs. Langston was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a friend to all. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be David Robbins, Kameron Robbins, Bob Harris, Steve Harris, Dr. Harvey Edwards and Bill Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers are James Embrey, Joni Taylor Embrey and members of Forrest Lake Baptist Church. We would also like to mention friends of Shadydale, Riverdale, and the Forrest Lake community.
