Miss Frances Abbe Dies, Ill 2 Years

Miss Frances Abbe, formerly of Plainfield, died yesterday (Sept. 10, 1945) at Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville, N. Y., after an illness of two years. Miss Abbe was the daughter of Mrs. William Abbe and the late Mr. Abbe. She was formerly an occupational therapist at various hospitals, having been most recently connected with the Presbyterian Hospital Medical Center, New York. She left that position about two and a half years ago.

The Abbe family resided in Plainfield for about 25 years, living first in Webster PI. and later in Nepawin Rd. Mr. Abbe died in Plainfield in 1927. Mrs. Abbe and her daughter had resided in Bronxville since leaving Plainfield in 1936. Miss Abbe attended the Plainfield Seminary, Plainfield High School and Smith College.

In addition to her mother. Miss Abbe is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Charles H. Abbe, the Rev. William Abbe Jr., Miss Medora Abbe and Mrs. John Stark.

Private memorial services will be held at 2:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Chapel of Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church. Interment will be private.

122,511,31 Frances Abbe, daughter of William (122,511,3) and Louisa Hart (Howson) Abbe, was born on February 20th, 1905, in Rochester, New York. She was educated at Smith College, 1924-26, and graduated from the Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy, in 1928. She was connected with the White Plains Branch of the New York Orthopedic Hospital and now is connected with the Presbyterian Hospital, in New York City. She resides in Bronxville, New York.
