In the late 1800's, her grandfather founded one of the largest brick yards on the Hudson River, the Jova Brickworks. Ynes has spent her life in the Hudson Valley, raising a family in Saugerties, and returning to live in Newburgh in her later years.
Ynes worked as a successful real estate broker and operated an antique business with her husband, Robert Cline, who died in 1989. Above all, Ynes enjoyed spending time with her family, but also sailing, gardening and traveling. She was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels and served several terms as a Board member for the Hudson River Maritime Museum.
Ynes is survived by two sons, one daughter, and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Henri Vatable Jova (now deceased) of West Palm Beach, FL, and long-time companion, Anthony Megargee (now deceased) of Esopus. She was predeceased by her brother, John Joseph Jova of Washington DC, former American Ambassador to Mexico.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 17, at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Roseton, NY.
