Wood, 67, passed away on Tuesday,
June 5, 2001 in Bossier City. A me-
morial service will be held 11 am.
Thursday, June 7, 2007 in Faith
Chapel at First Baptist Bossier. Dr.
Fred Lowery pastor of First Baptist
Bossier will officiate.
Mr. Wood was born in Shreveport,
LA and was a resident of Bossier City.
He was a member of First Baptist
Bossier. He was a member and past
president of the Bossier City Optimist
Club. He was a graduate of North-
western State University where he re-
ceived his Masters Degree. After
graduation, he taught at Parkway
High School, was principal of Kerr El-
ementary from 1969-1980 and then
served as supervisor of middle
schools, director of curriculum, direc-
tor of personnel and finally as assis-
tant superintendent of the Bossier
Parish School Board. John loved
teaching his Sunday school class and
was a loving son, husband, father,
grandfather, great grandfather and
frend.
His father, Glenn "Doc" Wood pre-
ceded him in death.
Mr. Wood is survived by his wife,
Marjorle Wood of Bossier City, LA;
and mother, Helen Wood of Bossier City,
son, Jeff Wood and wife Jessica
of Mansfield, TX; daughter, Laura
Wood Tate and husband Bobby of
of Sottsboro, AL; brothers, Glenn Wood
and wife Brenda of Rock Hill, SC,
Denny Wood and wife Linda of Cedar
Hill, TX; step-son, Chip Bolton of
Shreveport, LA; step-daughters,
Ramona Hensley and husband Steve
of Blanchard, LA, Linda Williams and
husband Rob of Shreveport, LA; 10
grandchildren, four great-grand chil-
dren and numerous nieces and neph-
ews.
