A. Louise Jones was born June 26, 1921, in Waterford, a daughter of Bert and Mayme (Kinsey) Jones.

Louise married Woody Burkett, and they became the parents of two sons and a daughter.

A Pirates and Steelers fan, she telegraphed the teams all the good luck she could muster by crossing not only her fingers, but her arms and legs as well.

She crafted beautiful personalized photo albums and holiday decorations that her family treasured. She was happiest when her family, including her extended family, gathered for holidays, picnics or any celebration. She was the best wife, mum and minaw a family could ever hope for.

At the age of 92, A. Louise Burkett died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Bethlen Home, Ligonier.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Boyd; a brother, Bill; and her beloved husband, H. Woodrow Sr., who died April 7, 1976.

She was survived by sons, Woody Jr. (Linda Lear) and John (Connie Askins), all of Bolivar; and daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" (Paul) Abram, of Johnstown. She cherished her four grandchildren, Allyson (Dennis) Eckels, of Bolivar; Kimberly Matha (Chris Davis), of Erie; Gregory (Stacy Neiderhiser), of the New Florence area, and Michael (Nikki Gray), of Mineral Point; and adored her 10 great-grandchildren, Shayne, Deena and Daniel Eckels, C.J. Matha, Paige, Madisyn and Brody Burkett and Caleb, Jordyn and Gabriel Burkett. She is also survived by her dear brother and sisters, Eugene (Thelma) Jones, Dorothy Fish and Cathrine Shadron, all of Waterford.

Interment in Bolivar West View Cemetery.
