Last Rites Slated for Sepulveda
SAN PEDRO-Funeral services will be held Thursday for Philip Roman Sepulveda, 71, descendent of one of the last of the California dons.
He died Sunday night at his home, 1221 Sunside St., following a lingering illness.
Sepulveda was the son of Roman Sepulveda, whose family pioneered this area after it was given a huge land grant.
Survivors include the wife, Georgia; daughters, Mrs. Grace Alberts and Mrs. Maria English, both of San Pedro, Mrs. Maria Elanita Lobos of Oceanside; brothers, Louis and Benjamin, both of San Pedro; sisters, Mrs. Elanita Snyder of San Pedro, and Mrs. Maude Contos of Lakewood.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m., Wednesday, in the McNerney Mortuary Chapel and requiem mass is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Members of the San Pedro Elks Lodge will officiate during committal services at Inglewood Cemetery.
