Near Mankato Sunday
Mrs. Phyllis M. True, 41, Courtland, died at the Republic County Hospital Belleville, about noon Sunday following a 2-car collision at 9:14 a.m. on US36 highway 3 miles east of Mankato.
Highway patrolmen said Mrs. True was riding in a car driven by her husband, Aldon (Eldon) W. True, 46. Another car, driven by Benjamin F. Goff, 40, Randall, was eastbound on the highway and lost control on the rain-slick pavement, skidded broadside crossed the center line and was hit broadside by the westbound True car.
True and his son, Dale, 16, were reported in fair condition at the Republic County Hospital in Belleville Monday. Goff was not treated for minor injuries. A passenger in the Goff car Pearl L. Shamburg, 55, Randall, was admitted to St. Joseph's hospital, Concordia.
Services for Mrs. True will be held Thursday, August 28, 10 a.m. at the United Methodist church in Courtland and graveside services will be 1 p.m. at the Fairview cemetery at Smith Center.
