Gladys Cathy Garr, 98, of Union City passed away May 22, 2014.

Mrs. Garr was the retired owner of The Dwarf House of Gifts at Greenbrier Mall. She was also a retired Officer of Cascade Garden Club, and a member of Fayette Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Garr was preceded in death by her husband William Lamar Garr, and a daughter Lamartine Garr Peevy.

Survivors include brother, S. Truett Cathy and wife Jeannette of Jonesboro, GA.; son-in-law, Norman F. Peevy of Columbus, GA.; granddaughter, Normandy L. McKenna and husband James S. (Jim); granddaughter Cynthia A. Peevy; great grandchildren Craig R. McKenna, Christopher L. McKenna, and Amanda McKenna; great great grandchildren RyLeigh Brooke McKenna and Ryan Craig McKenna all of Columbus, GA.; nephews Dan Cathy of Woolsey, and Don "Bubba" Cathy of Jonesboro; nieces Jean Cathy Denny, of Palm City, FL., Nancy Cathy Patch of Hixon, TN., and Trudy Cathy White of Hampton, GA.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Fayetteville Chapel with Dr. Charles Carter officiating. The interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 11:00 to 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Southwest Christian Care at www.swchristiancare.org or Christian City at www.christiancity.org.
