Operation Failed to Save Madison Bennett
Madison Bennett, aged 9 years, son of Mrs. Lee Vice, east of town, died Tuesday morning, following an operation for appendicitis, performed the day before. Death did not resuit from the operation, it is said, but because complications had already set in.
Internment took place at Long Creek cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock, services being conducted by Rev. Edgar Hubbard. A large crowd was present to show their sympathy for the family in their hour of bereavement.
