VJ was a wrangler... breaking, training, and tending the horses used to work cattle, he also performed a multitude of other ranch-related tasks, herding, roping, etc. He was also a farmer early on.
Train Accident, December 6, 1949
VJ was hit by a M.K. &T. Passenger Train, and crushed on the way home from the ranch, in a stormy fog, ten miles from home.
