Mildred Wheat, age 97 of Royse City, TX, passed away October 31, 2015. She was born November 15, 1917, in Miller Grove, TX, to Albert Braxton and Mattie (Burns) Akins. Mildred married Alvin Wheat on March 21, 1936 in Cumby, TX. She was a resident of Royse City for 42 years where she was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church. Mildred was an excellent cook and loved quilting, walking and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Mildred is survived by daughters: Kay Meredith of Mesquite, TX, Sylvia Ranford and husband Bill of Tulsa, OK, and Dorothy Northcutt and husband Dennis of Royse City, TX; grandchildren: Susan Olivarez of Waco, TX, Robert Ranford of Glenpool, OK, Kerry Meredith of Mesquite, TX, Kristi Lewis of Sachse, TX, Sheryln Frazier of Quinlan, TX, her favorite Nikki Mutschler of Rockwall, TX, and Melisa Wood of Tyler, TX; 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin Wheat, and daughter Wanda Gilmore.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday, November 2, 2015, at First United Methodist Church Royse City with Rev. Cathy Partridge officiating. Interment will follow in Miller Grove Cemetery.
