Mrs. Dora Lee Ruth Burgett, 64, of Walkersville, passed away at home on May 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Michael J. Burgett, her husband of 45 years.
Born August 2, 1949 in Abraham, WV, she was the daughter of the late Buren and Reda Bragg. She loved going to the beach (especially Virginia Beach, where she and Michael first met); she loved gardening and grew fantastic yellow roses; and she was strong in her faith and loved spending time reading her Bible.
In addition to her loving husband, Dora is survived by four children, Kristopher Burgett & wife Jennifer, Katrina Burgett & fiancé Lonnie McLain, Kimberly Schofield & husband Gordon, and Christina Privitera; five siblings, Vonnie Coskey, Barbara Throckmorton, Dianna Brookman & husband Larry, Kenneth Bragg & wife Tena, and Jerry Bragg & wife Sharon; an aunt, Vella Harper; ten grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helena Davis.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 28th from 7 – 9 PM at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, and from 11 AM – 12 PM on Thursday, May 29th at Calvary Assembly of Frederick, 8234 Woodsboro Pike in Walkersville, where a funeral service will begin at 12 PM on Thursday. The Rev. John Kenney will officiate. Procession and interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
