He was survived by his widow Alice, his daughters Elizabeth Black and Barbara Bawden, his stepdaughter Shirley Davis, his brothers Robert and Meyrl Bowers, his sisters Ferol Mexalia and Faye Worrell, as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
