Born to Joseph and Nina (Ballinger) Ferguson, near Hastings, he served in the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He was an avid OU fan and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and square dancing.



In 1944 he married Tommie Cotner in Comanche, she preceded him in death in 1980. Then in Nov. 1980, he married Vadie Varner in Walters.



He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill and Albert Ferguson; and a sister, Maurice Apple.



Survivors in addition to his wife, Vadie, of Marlow include; four children, Teresa and husband Bobby Sandlin of Mustang, Gary and Vicki Ferguson of Duncan, Steve and Willi Ferguson of Kingston, and Kathy and Steve Thacker of Edmond; a step-daughter, Linda Stewart of Walters; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held March 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Walters. Burial was held in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.
