Ursel Augustine Duncan Strosnider, age 97 of 301 S. Alexander Ave., Clarksburg, WV departed this life at 5:33 a.m., Sat., Jan. 14, 2006 in Heartland of Clarksburg following an extended illness. She was born in Clarksburg, WV on Oct. 20, 1908, a daughter of the late Hanson H. Duncan and Floda D. (Mitchell) Duncan.
Her husband, Luther Kile Strosnider, preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1965.
Surviving are a son, Robert K. Strosnider and his wife, Nancy, Winchester, KY, two daughters, Barbara Sue Sharpe, Bridgeport, WV and Mary Lou Marshall and her husband, Andrew, Jr., Meadow Brook, WV, 7 grandchildren, Jannelle Allen, Judith Strosnider, William Robert Sharpe, Timothy Kile Sharpe, Robert Eric Hogue, Christopher Wyatt Hogue and Ruth Ann Sharpe Ash, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, Austin, 11 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Hayward Duncan and Harles Duncan.
Mrs. Strosnider was a member of the Stealey United Methodist Church and the Stealey United Methodist Church Women's Club.
She was a 50 year member of Queen Esther Chapter #11, O.E.S, and she was a charter member and past Royal Matron of the Order of Amaranth, Court #3 where she had been a member for over 50 years.
Mrs. Strosnider also was a member of the Clan Duncan Society.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 with Pastor Joseph D. Riggs presiding. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery
