DeLoyd was born April 26, 1914 to Toney and Josie Schimmels. He was the oldest of eight children. He was reared and educated in Naponee, Nebraska, graduating from high school in 1932.
He married Eleanor Hickman on October 10, 1936 in Naponee. They moved to Parma in 1938. They had 3 sons, Kenneth Eugene, Lawrence DeLoyd and Kirby Francis. In 1975 they moved to Caldwell. In 1978 he retired from Black Canyon Irrigation District after working for them for 23 years.
DeLoyd was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell.
He passed away at home on May 4, 1987 and is buried in the Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell.
