Clebert C. Rittgers, Sr., 91, passed away on May 25, 2014. He was born on May 19, 1923 to Chester Daniel and Mary Randolph Rittgers. Clebert served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired as a Captain from the Corpus Christi Fire Department after 31 years of service, and loved to fish.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jane Rittgers; siblings, Dorthalee, Cotton, Netti, Daisy, Evelyn, Robert, Jessie Mae, David Earl, and Colbert.

Clebert is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carolyn Ann Rittgers; children, Deborah Lucas, Nancy Wilson, Clebert C. Rittgers, Jr., Randall Lane Rittgers; grandchildren, Kristen Daniels, Sarah Lucas, John R. Wilson II, Jennifer Lucas, Sydney Rittgers, Randall Rittgers, Jr., Shelby and Sophie Rittgers; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Seth, Josiah, Noah, Isaac, and Joshua Daniels; step-children, David and Catherine Logan, Cindy Brocker; eight step-grandchildren; sister, Elsie Thiem; and brother, Delbert Rittgers.

Interment to follow service at Seaside Memorial Park.
