Funeral Today At 2 For Alfred Skjeret

Alfred Skjeret, 69, of rural Dazey died early March 11 at his home. The funeral will be this afternoon at 2 in St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Walum, the Rev. S. S. Urberg officiating.
Mr. Skjeret was born July 18, 1893 at Trondheim, Norway, and came to Moorhead, Minn., in 1913. He married Helen Jonasen May 26, 1923.
He moved to Karnak in 1916, and farmed there until 1930, when the family moved to the farm just south of Walum in Barnes county where they have lived ever since. He farmed land in both Barnes and Griggs counties.
Mr. Skjeret was a veteran of World War I.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons and four daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Audrey) Ouren, Mrs. Gilman (Vivian) Goplen, Alfred Jr., Leon, Mrs. Barton (Myrna) Thompson, Connie, and Loren ; Fourteen grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Andrew (Nina) Torgerson; and a brother, Magnus.
Military rites will be by Mervin J. Armstrong Post 113, the American Legion of Hannaford. Quam Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Music by Mrs. Glen Broten, organist, Gerald Fogderud, Richard Johnson, Harry Haugen, Martin Haugen, quartet, and Martin Haugen, soloist.
Pallbearers: Lloyd Campbell, Claude Freer, Conrad Fogderud, Carl J.L. Haugen, Alvin Johnson, Vernon Wogsland.
