JOHN C. SCHROEDER (d. 2008)
John C. Schroeder, age 60, of 2615 Monroe St., Two Rivers, died on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Milwaukee, after a heroic battle with cancer.
John was born on Oct. 3, 1948, in Two Rivers, a son of Gregory "Gary" Schroeder, and the late Bernice "Connie" (Conway) Schroeder. He attended both St. Luke's and Holy Redeemer Catholic grade schools, and Washington High School, Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1966. He also attended the University of Wisconsin-Manitowoc Center, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison before coming back home to join the family business, Schroeder's Department Store in 1969. John served in all capacities and the daily
operations of the business, including president, the office he held until his death. John was a very active volunteer in the City of Two Rivers. He was very much a part of, and very involved with the Two Rivers Business Association, Two Rivers Main Street Program, and Rogers Street Fishing Village. He enjoyed photography; Vintage Racing at Road America; and participated in the Two Rivers Recreational Touch Football League for many years. John will be greatly missed by his family, co-workers, and the city of Two Rivers.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Connie, on April 29, 1998.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, from 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m., led by Father Bill. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday morning after 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
