Noel (Rocky) Gordon Coleman, Jr., age 59, of Austin, passed away at home on Thursday, May 8, 2008. Rocky was born on November 23, 1948, in San Francisco, CA, to Mr. and Mrs. Noel G. Coleman, Sr.

Rocky honored his country by serving in the United States Marine Corp, 1967 - 1970. He was awarded a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Pistol Expert Badge, and Rifle Expert Badge. After his USMC service he served as a Fort Worth Police Officer for seven years. Subsequently Rocky started a watch repair business he expanded to both the Beaumont and Austin markets. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and will continue in Spirit to ride Harley "Skully" through the Hill Country and across the state of Texas.

Rocky was a courageous, generous and honest man that worshipped his wife, loved his siblings, children and honored his parents. He took his responsibilities seriously and never felt burdened by his load. His kind spirit and fun-loving nature carried him through all life's challenges and while he may have lost one battle....he won in life...as he always lived it "big" full of hope and promise. He will be missed by everyone in his wide circle of family and friends that he touched with his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Phillips Coleman; parents, Helen and Noel Gordon Coleman, Sr. of Fort Worth; daughter, Angela Grace Mason and husband Trent and their children, Erica, Guy Jr., and Trinity; daughter, Erin Jane Beltran and husband, Louis and their son Alexander; and his youngest son Jesse Gordon Coleman. Rocky was also the proud step-father of Hope Stambaugh and husband, Jon and their children, Chelsea and Taylor; Sam Bunch and wife Trisha and their children Kyle and Rylee; Philip Bunch and wife, Jackie and their children Tiffany, Ken, Kealy and Mason. Rocky was a beloved brother of Bruce and Linda Coleman of Fort Worth; Wayne and Wanda Coleman of Pflugerville and Rhonda Kirby of Horseshoe Bay. Rocky leaves behind many nieces and nephews that will also cherish his memory.

The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Shenandoah Baptist Church in Austin.
