∼Pelatiah Gilbert and wife Sarah joined the West Brookfield Congregational Church, July 19, 1778. In 1793 he built the house in West Brookfield which was later occupied by his descendant, Lewis Abbott Gilbert (born Mar. 22, 1828, the son of Calvin).

In a note from descendent Pam Johnson: this house that Peletiah built can be seen in Springfield, Massachusetts at the Storrowton Village Museum. I've added the picture of it - maybe someone might like to go see it. It's a beautiful house and well worth a visit.
