James C. Sheppard, 71, of 443 Pleasant Hill Avenue, Star City, died yesterday at Monongalia Genral Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born August 25, 1892 in Weston. He was the sonof the late William and Elizabeth Flesher Sheppard.
He was a retired steelworker and a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by one son, Harlan C. Sheppard of McKeesport, PA.; one daughter, Mrs. Della L. Cesa of Star City; two brothers, Amos Sheppard of Morgantown and Paul Sheppard of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Naomi Boggs of Morgantown, and Mrs. Ruth Weese of Clarksburg; two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home. The Rev. Haywood Saffey officiating.
