He was born July 12, 1926 in Winfield, KS to Orin and Letha (Tetrick) Jones. They moved to Wichita in 1941 where he went to high school.
He joined the Navy in July 1944, serving in the South Pacific and was in the Battle of Okinawa. He received his discharge in May 1947.
After the Navy, he worked in the aircraft industry, moving to KC, MO in 1952 where he met and married Barbara L. Lucy, his wife of 61 years.
They moved back to Wichita in 1955 where he worked in the construction industry until his retirement in 1991.
Survivors: wife, Barbara of the home; daughters, Susan Floyd of Wichita and Kristi (Stephen) Tarver of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Joshua (Brandy) Floyd, Brett Floyd, Stephanie (Phillip) McGee, Neal Tarver and Candice Tarver; gr. grandchildren, Julia and Kara Floyd and Adria and William McGee.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Russell Jones.
