He was the son of William and Gertrude (Schneider) Fink. On May 3, 1947, he married Dorothy M. Boehmer, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, David (Linda), Celina; a daughter, Susan (Charles) Bergman, Winter Garden, FL; a son-in-law, James Deffenbaugh, Newport News, VA; a sister, Lois (Willard) Magoto, Versailles; a sister-in-law, Ruth Fink, St. Marys; and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Steven; a daughter, Elaine Deffenbaugh; four brothers: Clarence (Alvera), Gerald (Leota), Donald and Arnold (Irene); three sisters: Mildred (Walter) Stachler, Bertha Fink and Velma (Walt) Bruggeman; and two grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was in the Normandy Invasion and European and Pacific Conflict. He retired as a shipping clerk at the former New Idea, where he had been employed 43 years. He was a 1940 graduate of Coldwater High School*; a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Celina; and a life member of the Celina VFW and the Coldwater American Legion and member of the Coldwater Eagles and Immaculate Conception Men's Sodality. He volunteered at IC bingo and Mercer County Council on Aging garage sales. He loved playing cards, dancing and traveling.
