Helen White died three days short of her 100th birthday.
She was born in East Spencer to the late Charles H. and Jenny Margaret Alexander Graeber and was married to the late Joe Alexander Wright, Sr. An accomplished violinist and pianist, Mrs. Wright graduated from Cannon High School in Kannapolis and attended Queens College and Salem College. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served many years as Sunday school teacher for both children and adults and was active in the Nell Lipe Circle. Her piano students will remember her as their pleasant and patient piano teacher.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Queen Graeber McAtee, Marie Graeber Davis, Mary Graeber McKinley and Geneva Graeber.

She is survived by two sons, Charles "Jerry" F. Wright and Joe A. Wright, Jr., both of Landis; two daughters, Nancy W. Phipps (Joseph W.) of Winston-Salem and Wanda W. Karriker (Ron) of Catawba; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
