Ruth F. Hellenbrand, age 95, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Ingleside Nursing Home. Ruth was born on December 6, 1922 to William and Lillian (Esser) Gugel. She farmed almost all of her life. She married Albert F. Hellenbrand on October 16, 1947. She and Albert raised 9 children: Wilfrid (Mary), Linus (Chere), Clyde (Cindy), Rose (Tom), Rita, Warren (Deanne), Carol (Doug-deceased: 12/25/2009), Lester-deceased: 9/3/2002 (Maureen–Wayne), and Andrew (Dawn).

She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 58 years and a son: Lester.

She is survived by her children, 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

She loved farming, gardening, cooking and canning, crocheting, making quilts, entertaining friends, playing cards, cats and taking pictures.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, St. Christopher Parish, 301 N. Main St., Verona, WI with Rev. John Sasse officiating. A visitation will be from 9:30 am – 10:50 am at the church. Burial will be at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery.

In a ceremony Oct. 16 at 9:30 a. m. in Blessed Sacrament church. Miss Ruth Frances Gugel, daughter of Mrs. Lillian Gugel, 2138 Fox Ave., was married to Albert F. Hellenbrand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hellenbrand, Waunakee.

The Rev. John B. Schneider officiated. Panels o£ Chantilly lace trimmed the bride's gown of heavy white satin. Her chapel-length veil of net and Chantilly lace fell in soft folds from a tiara of rosebuds and seed pearls. Her bouquet of white flowers was tied with satin ribbon.

She was given in marriage by her uncle, J. C. Esser, Miss Ethel Gugel, who preceded her sister down the aisle as maid of honor, wore a formal gown o£ hyacinth blue taffeta and a sweetheart hat of matching net. She carried a colonial bouquet of bronze and yellow chrysanthemums and yellow roses.

Miss Agatha Hellenbrand, sister of the bridegroom, was the bridesmaid. She wore a dusty rose taffeta gown with a matching net hat. Her flowers were bronze and yellow chrysanthemums. Theodore Hellenbrand served as his brother's best man. The ushers here Howard Bauhg and Victor Hellenbrand. Mr. and Mrs. Hellenbrand left for Milwaukee after a wedding dinner at the Cuba club. They are now at home at 2138 Fox Ave. The bridegroom is engaged in farming.

Hellenbrands to mark 50 years together

Albert and Ruth Hellenbrand will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a Mass of thanksgiving at St Andrew's Church, Verona, followed by a family gathering.

Albert and the former Ruth Gugel were married Oct. 16, 1947,
at Blessed Sacrament Church, Madison. Their children are
Wilfred, Linus, Clyde, Rose, Rita, Warren, Carol, Lester and Andrew. They have 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
