Mr. Allen died July 24, 2005, at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born March 21, 1942, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Everett Doyle and Anna Caddell Allen. He graduated from Ada High School and attended East Central University in Ada.
He had lived in Lexington since 1967, coming from Ada. Mr. Allen married Joye Jay Aug. 7, 1986 in Oklahoma City. He worked for the Ada Police Department for one year, then joined the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, retiring in 1986.
After retiring he worked for the Purcell Police Department as assistant police chief for 3-1/2 years, Lexington Police Department for 2-1/2 years, Joseph Harp Correctional Center for 1-1/2 years and Cedar Creek Nursing Home as maintenance supervisor for 2-1/2 years. Mr. Allen was a member of the Troopers Associaton and the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Paul Allen and a stepdaughter, Glenda Marie.
Survivors include his wife, Joye Allen, of the home; two sons, Carl Allen and his wife, Renee, and Joe Allen and his fiance, Tina Gregory, both of Ada; one daughter, Bobbie Jean Wyatt and her husband, Terry, of Luther; three sisters, Gail Hammond and her husband, Don, of Shawnee, Judy Dooley and her husband, Bob, of Cushing and Carolyn Carwell and her husband, Mark, of New Hampshire; a sister-in-law, Della C. Allen of Bloomingdale, Ill., and four grandchildren.
