Kennedy Ann Hansen
November 25, 1997 ~ May 30, 2014

Kennedy Ann Hansen, 16, our Angel, Fremont's Angel, our
daughter, our sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and BEST
friend to all slipped peacefully back into her Heavenly
Father's arms on May 30, 2014 surrounded by her mother,
father and sister, Anna.

Kennedy was born on November 25, 1997 to Jason and Heather Hansen in Ogden, Utah. She lived her life in Ogden, Utah for 6 months, Riverdale, Utah for 6 years and West Haven, Utah for 10 years. She attended Riverdale Elementary, West Haven Elementary, Rocky Mountain Junior High, and Fremont High School.

If you knew Kennedy, you knew how to love. If you did not
know Kennedy, you would learn how to love instantly with a
Kennedy's Hug. She HUGGED everyone she met and was a BEST FRIEND to all. She loved to dance, sing, spend time in the outdoors, camp and hunt with her Dad. She was a beauty queen like her Mom and loved to do dress ups, doll parties and makeup parties. She owned every Monster High, Barbie or Twilight Doll available. She loved to ride horses, spend time with her cat Mario, her dog Sunny and her newest dog, Aggie. She loved to shop with her Mom, play everything and anything with her brother Beau and was a best friend to her sister Anna. Her truck rides with her Dad will go down in history as some of her greatest moments of her life and his. Especiallyโ€ฆ."The Last Ride.'

Her life completely changed 6 years ago as she began to go
blind. Kennedy began a slow decline full of many tests and
medical procedures to ultimately receive the devastating
diagnosis and news of Terminal Juvenile Batten Disease on
June 5, 2013 which ultimately took her life.

Kennedy made a commitment to share her story and wanted
everyone to know she loved them through her journey.
Kennedy's Hugs foundation was formed in her honor and
Kennedy spent the last year of her life creating a storybook of
miracles and fairy tale endings that was shared through her
Facebook page, Kennedy's Hugs. She attended Fremont
High, where she was placed on the Fremont High
Cheerleading Squad and had a year so unbelievable that
many would not believe, unless you were part of the story.
Through this, she gained 27 new Sisters and one new mother,
her coach Jill. She found the love of her life, Jaden, whom
she truly loved and he never left her side. Her reach has
affected millions, including some of the world's most famous
rock bands, church leaders, media outlets and political
dignitaries.

Every time you drink a Coke, eat a Rainbow Icee, watch
Harry Potter, High School Musical, Twilight, listen to
Radioactive, Let it Go or even Taylor Swift, you will think of
Kennedy.

With all of her loves in life, her favorite was her Father in
Heaven and his son Jesus Christ. She was a stalwart member
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Kennedy
did not just believe in her Savior, she knew him and is now in
his presence. She is running, laughing, and seeing and is
finally at peace. But, more importantlyโ€ฆ.she is Hugging
everyone she does and does not know in Heaven with
Kennedy's Hugs.

Kennedy is survived by her loving father, Jason, her mother,
Heather, her sister, Anna and beautiful brother, Beau. She
was preceded in death by her sweet grandmother, Ramona
and cousin, Brooke.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.

Kennedy Ann Hansen, daughter of Jason and Heather Hansen, was a healthy and vibrant little girl. All of that started to change roughly 5 years ago when seemingly benign issues like eye sight and learning abilities slowly transitioned to full blindness, debilitating cognitive abilities, and other physical ailments. Not until June 5, 2013 did the Hansen's finally receive a diagnosis for their Kennedy Ann- JUVENILE BATTEN DISEASE. This terminal disease is very rare and very aggressive disease. She is currently the only KNOWN case of Juvenile Batten Disease in the State of Utah.

The past weeks since the diagnosis have been very tender for the Hansen's. Although Jason, Heather and their family are panged with emotions and endless tears at the thought of losing their daughter, they have decided to turn this event into a beautiful experience for everyone. Kennedy's Hugs was founded in honor of Kennedy and her parents to celebrate the final months of Kennedy's time on earth and to leave a legacy that will help others in the future.

The road ahead is very rough and they will need everyone's support! Jason and Heather's determination is that Kennedy can stay the remainder of her earthly life in their home as comfortable and as happy as possible instead of at some nursing home. To make this happen, the Hansen's will have to make some costly preparations as Kennedy will be wheelchair bound, bedridden, and fully incapacitated. Many of the costs associated with Kennedy's disease will not be covered by insurance. The Kennedy's Hugs foundation will look to help offset some of these expenses.

Kennedy is unique. She will touch your life. She will carry on a great legacy through Kennedy's Hugs.
