Son of William Acers and Attee Scott.
Husband of Melinda G. Stout.
He came to Delaware County, Iowa with his brothers around 1850.

He moved to Clay County, Texas, in 1873, and is today noted in the county's Historical Society's records. He died while visiting his son Arthur in Oklahoma, his obituary published there, and his remains afterwards returned to Iowa where he was interred.
