King enlisted in the US Army on January 24,1955 and served in Germany with the 10th Mt Div. He was a feather weight Golden Gloves boxer for the Div. On June 8,1957 he was released from military service.
King married (1) Ellen Marie Brindley to this union was born one daughter

William Darwin Mitchell Brown (Billy)Deceased
King married (2) Nadine Wanek
His favorite music was by Stan Kenton but, he liked all kinds of music.
For awhile he hung out with the Four Imperials with Lynn Best as the led singer. Back in the mid fifties Highland Park, Mi. was filled with talented singers with performers like Jackie Wilson another home town guy.
They were just like the rest of us and sang in the halls of buildings, for the best sound a kid from the corner could find. I believe the Four Imperials are still performing.
