Russell was the son of Norman Frank and Elizabeth DeWilde Agricola. He attended Ben Lomond High School in Ogden Utah, and also several trade schools. He worked as a mechanic at the Sinclair station his father owned. He also had his CDL and worked for several years as a trucker. He had a variety of jobs, and learned from each.

Russell was very talented, and could fix almost anything. He was generous, and loved spending time with his family and his dogs. He loved the outdoors, and spent time hunting, fishing, and camping in Ogden Valley and on Monte Cristo. He also loved Island Park, Idaho, where his family had a cabin.

At the time of his passing, Russell was survived by his three sisters, one niece, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother-in-law Steve, cousins Kurt and Debbie, and many uncles and aunts.
