MILITARY HONORS ACCORDED VETERAN AT LAST RITES

Military funeral services were held in the Annabella ward chapel Saturday afternoon for Archie Gauchat, World war veteran and a former well known resident of Annabella, who died at a hospital in Reno, Nevada, September 20.

The services were in charge of Ammon Roberts of the Annabella ward bishopric, and military rites were performed by twelve members of the American Legion under command of Lieutenant H. T. Martines of Richfield. The attendance was large and there were many beautiful floral offerings

.

Music for the services was furnished by the choir under leadership of L. E. Davis. Speakers were Lloyd N. Gleave, H. Clynn Thurston and Mrs. Ellen Thurston. Albert Hooper offered the invocation and the benediction was by Bliss Daniels. Interment was in the Annabella cemetery. H. F. Roberts dedicated the grave.

Archie Gauchat was born at Annabella February 10, 1892, a son of Phillip and Abigal Gardner Gauchat. He made his home there until 1911, when he went to Montana. He spent the past three years at Reno.

As "Granny" Gauchat, he was a noted rodeo performer several years ago. During the World war he served with the United States cavalry.

Surviving Mr. Gauchat are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Nebeker and Fred Gauchat of Annabella, Mrs Lee Fairbanks of Reno, Nevada, Grandville and Paul Gauchat of Dubois, Idaho and Mrs. Alice Ballantyne of Santa Monica, California.
