A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Thurman and Mayme Hardin Blanton.
He was retired from Kendall Drug Co. after 35 years of service. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church Master Workers Sunday school class, a former welcome committee member, a former deacon, and he worked with preschool children at the church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Roberts Blanton; a son and daughter-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law, a brother and sister-in-law, a sister and brother-in-law, and four grandchildren.
