MAJOR ALLEN DIES
SAN DIEGO, Dec.10. - Major William T. Allen, the British consul at this port, was found dead in bed this morning at his rooms in the Bakesto block.
Major Allen has been the vice-consul her for ten years succeeding his brother.

FUNERAL OF VICE CONSUL ALLEN
Many Friends Gathered This Morning to Pay Last Respects to Well-Known Man.
Many were friends of the deceased who gathered this morning at the chapel of Johnson & Connell to attend the funeral rites for Major William T. Allen, British vice consul at this city, who died last Monday morning.
Especially beautiful were the floral tributes, which were massed about the casket in profusion. They included a large and hansom offering from the local chamber of commerce. The British consul general at San Francisco, Courtney Bennett was represented by a large memorial cross of white roses.
Among those present were the consuls of the various countries at this port. Rev. C. L. Barnes officiated in the impressive services. The pall bearers were James Vernon, James Scott, Anthony Loftus and A. Jaques.
