Tillie Violet Cruse, 76, of Parsons died at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul, Kansas.
She was born December 14, 1937, at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, a daughter of Richard R. and Lydia (Roller) Gentry. She moved to Parsons with her family and later graduated from Parsons High School in 1955.
On January 30, 1955, she married Delbert E. Cruse, Jr. The couple continued to live in Parsons for a short time and then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. The couple moved to California in 1967. Mr. Cruse preceded her in death on October 17, 2002, and Tillie returned to Parsons the following year.
She was a Christian. Tillie was also a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family.
Survivors include two sons; Danny R. Cruse of Concord, California and Michael E. Cruse of Ashville, North Carolina; and a daughter, Sandra L. Cruse of San Jose, California; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; a great-granddaughter and a sister, Dollie (Albert) Magner of Topeka, Kansas.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Lavinna (Bill) Stallsmith, Thelma (James) Earley and Myrtle (Frank) Marrs.
No services are planned at this time. Inurnment will be in the Memorial Lawn Abbey in Parsons. Carson-Wall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Tillie Violet Gentry married her high school sweetheart, Delbert Eugene Cruse, Jr. on January 30, 1955 at the First Assembly of God Church in Parsons, Kansas in Labette County. Church address: 521 North 16th Street. Their union was blessed with three children, two sons and one daughter.
