Funeral services for Willie M. Alexander, 92, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, in Tapp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Keefe Cropper and the Rev. Woodrow Kirby officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Academy Cemetery with Charlie Anderson, Howard Patty, Jimmy Wayne Winfrey, Milford Ragan, George Temples and Earl Downs serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Alexander died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday at Woodhaven Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 14, 1900, in Hopkins County. She married Richard Alexander in 1916. He preceded her in death in 1963. She married James Alexander in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Prior to moving to Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Alexander was a resident of Como and Shooks Chapel. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher at Como First Baptist Church for 25 years. She was a homemaker, former teacher and a nurse.
Survivors include one step-daughter, Mary Patty of Sulphur Springs, and one granddaughter, Debbie Whitley of Corpus Christi.
