Mrs. Clara M. Schaefer, 89, of Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Phipps Memorial Chapel of First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase J. Zanotti will officiate with burial in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mrs. Schaefer, nee Clara Nelson, was born May 21, 1886, at Chicago, daughter of the late John and Ann Samuelson Nelson. She was educated in Chicago schools and was married to Eugene H. Schaefer Sr., May 11, 1907, at Crown Point, Ind. They resided at Antigo and Marinette, retiring to Manitowoc in 1963. Mr. Schaefer preceded her in death April 30, 1964.
Survivors include three sons, John William, of Park Ridge, Ill., Clarence Oscar, of Escanba, Mich., and Dr. Harry Ernest, of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Charlotte Ann) Zipler, of Glendale, Wis.; a brother, Ernest Nelson, of Denver, Colo., 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren preceded her in death [sic].
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening and at the chapel from noon Thursday until the time of service.
